If you are looking to make your summer end with a bang, you cannot miss the drum circle at Venice Beach. The party starts every Sunday an hour before sunset where drummers, dancers and dreadlocks can be found. To the right of the pier you can hear the drumsticks tapping on the drums in unison and the tambourines shaking wildly to all contribute to a groovy rhythm. The attractive beat will make you want to move your dancing feet towards the middle of the circle where you can join in on the fun.
Those tapping on their drums, waving their maracas and shaking their tambourines surround the outside of the circle. The inside of the circle is designated for those who feel the rhythm and want to dance in the soft sand. Young to old, people move their bodies to express themselves and feel the beat.
If you have the time this summer to make a stop, I highly recommend visiting Venice Beach on a Sunday afternoon. It is an experience unlike any other. You can bring your tambourine, drums, or even maracas and add on to the beat.
