More Awards For CCHS Digital Imaging Students; Working Indian Wells Art Festival

On Saturday, April 21st, three DATA Digital Imaging students were awarded by Cathedral City Mayor Kathy DeRosa at the Earth Through a Lens photography awards and exhibit. The event, held at the Rancho Mirage Public Library, honored top professional photographers from around the U.S. in addition to our CCHS students.

1st Place, Sophomore Austyn Moreno
2nd Place,  Junior Emilia Jimenez
3rd Place, Senior Jasmine Mikulak

Students were each presented with a certificate and $100 gift card to Camera West in Rancho Mirage.

As an additional opportunity, DATA Di senior Wesley Duncan prepared the on screen display of the over 300 submissions, as well as a special show of the winners which will run at theMuseum of Photographic Arts in San Diego.

For the second year in a row, DATA Digital Imaging students worked with Diane Funk Enterprises, Inc. to photograph the 2012 Indian Wells Art Festival. Students braved the hot sun for two days during Spring Break to shoot artists, local dancers, demonstrations, and award winners.

Additionally, digital imagining students worked as Art Ambassadors for the Festival and were provided a booth to display their work. This provided a wonderful opportunity to interact with the community and share information about the digital imaging and SkillsUSA programs at CCHS.
